New Zealander Annette Swoffer came home to quite the surprise when she spotted a fur-seal pup comfortably resting on the couch in her living room. The seal apparently had wondered from Welcome Bay, on New Zealand’s north island, through some heavy traffic to her home, entered through the cat door and found refuge on her couch. The Department of Conservation, which had already received calls about a seal hopping along a nearby road, came the rescue. Officials said it wasn’t the first time they tracked down this same seal and brought him back to the sea. They gave him the name Lucky.
