This ride is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Beginning in April, the TradeWinds Island Resort in St. Pete Beach, Florida, is offering rides on a JetLev, a water-propelled jet pack that allows you to skim across the water or soar up to 30 feet in what the resort describes as “the coolest, most exhilarating water sports ride of your life.” With the JetLev, you can pretty much live the James Bond dream.

The JetLev is powered by a 200-horsepower engine that sucks water from the Gulf of Mexico and then propels it through two nozzles with such force that it drives the user into the air. Although the user has some control, so does a trained operator who can control speed and direction via remote control.

A ride on the $100,000 unit will cost $285 for 45 minutes, and users – flyers if you will – must be 18 years old.

What do you think? Would you be daring enough to try the JetLev?
