Jimmy Buffett – a huge New Orleans Saints football fan – chimed in on the NFL BountyGate scandal Sunday night (April 1) by wearing a Free Sean Payton T-shirt as Saints Head Coach Payton himself played bongos during Buffett’s free concert in Woldenberg Park, New Orleans. The concert was part of the festivities surrounding the NCAA Final Four tournament in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Buffett brought Payton on stage for Changes in Latitudes, much to the pleasure of the huge crowd.

Payton is appealing his yearlong suspension for his role in the bounty system, in which players were reportedly given cash bonuses for either knocking opponents out of games or leaving them needing help to get off the field.

Jimmy Buffett was one of three big acts booked for the “Big Dance Concert Series,” with Kiss playing on March 30, the Black Keys on March 31.

Jimmy is a native of the Gulf Coast and frequent visitor to New Orleans, as well as a big fan of the Saints.
