A penthouse on Poipu Beach has become the most expensive condo ever sold on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, capturing $3.34 million. The unit is in Koloa Landing, a Wyndham Grand Resort and one of the newest complexes in the area. Poipu Beach, on the sunny south side of the Garden Isle, is ranked as one of the top five beaches in the world.

Hawaii News Now quoted the buyer – Stephen Petasky President of The Luxus Group – as saying, “The decision to purchase at Koloa Landing was easy. Our objective is to maintain a real estate portfolio of exceptional properties which provide the highest standard of luxury in some of the world’s most desirable locations. This penthouse hits the mark.”

Condominiums in the lush, tropical 25-acre Koloa Landing range from 1,100 to more than 3,000 square feet, and some sell for under $800,000. According to the complex’s web site, the resort has two resort style pools with meandering lagoons and cascading waterfalls.

While you may not have a few million lying around to purchase one of these fantastic units, a quick check on TripAdvisor reveals that you can  rent a room for under $300 a night. Check TripAdvisor traveler reviews and prices for Koloa Landing and compare with all the hotels and resorts in the Poipu Beach area.
