The Nisbet Plantation Beach Club on the exclusive West Indies island of Nevis – the sister island to St. Kitts – is the top resort in the Caribbean, according to the 2012 Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. “Not ultra fancy and opulent,” according to the resort’s own website, “just private, romantic and personal.”

The Nisbet provides solitude on its quiet white sand beach, with its cottage-style accommodations and gourmet dining. And Conde Nast readers are not the only big fans of the Nisbet. TripAdvisor – the world’s top travel review site – give it a near-perfect rating and rank it the top hotel on Nevis. “Fantastic place, people and holiday! The food is amazing and the resort second to none, you are treated as a friend and welcomed wherever you go,” writes one TripAdvisor traveler. Read more and compare prices
